In this study, 12 varieties and elite lines of rice (Oryza sativa) were planted in randomized complete block design with three replications over two locations (Rasht and Chaparsar) in 1996. The traits evaluated included number of panicles per plant, number of grains per panicle, 100-grain weight, plant height, panicle length, number of secondary panicles, flag leaf length and width, length of top internode, grain length and width, number of days to 50% flowering, and days to maturity. Combined analysis over the locations showed significant differences among lines for all traits, except grain width. Grain yield had positive and significant genotypic correlations with 100-grain weight, flag leaf length and width, number of secondary panicles, and days to maturity, but negative significant genotypic correlation with plant height and length of top internode.
