Sensing spectrum in a reliable and efficient manner is a fundamental problem in cognitive radio networks. The energy-based detection methods are highly noise uncertainty conditions. The eigenvalue-based detection schemes address the noise uncertainty problem, however, performance degrades under low SNR. The double-threshold-based eigenvalue detection scheme performs well under low SNR, but it is not reliable under fading environment and hidden terminal problem. Thus, ensuring cooperation among spectrum sensing devices is an appropriate method when cognitive radio network is under deep shadowing and in a fading environment. The artificial intelligent techniques can be used to find the spectrum hole. In this paper, a cooperative spectrum sensing scheme using double-threshold-based detection scheme is proposed.
