简介
E arly typically ing during models identified the course of psychopathology processes of the disorder operatas reflecting the key determinants of the onset of psychopathology (eg, irrational beliefs; Ellis, 1962). Such models have led to important advances in understanding important features of psychopathology. For example, in the cognitive arena, schema models initially focused almost exclusively on understanding cognitive variables functioning in the disordered state. This conceptual approach, as well as the empirical research motivated by these models, has led to a number of significant insights into depression (Ingram, Miranda, & Segal, 1998), anxiety (eg, McManus & Clark, 2002), personality disorders (Beck, 1999), and even problematic marital interactions (Beck, 1989). Schema models thus represent a clear example of the power of such constructs as they apply to the description of psychopathology.
