简介
In this paper, we present a simulated annealing (SA) algorithm [1, 2] with multiple perturbations (MPSA) for designs of multilevel diffractive optical elements (DOEs). The use of single perturbation in the classical SA generally limits the searching route and thus the solution space. In order to search an extensive solution space for a solution with lower energy, we randomly selected a number of elements in the DOE array and changed their phase values, randomly as well. In simulations, a 64-by-64-pixel phase array of a 4-level DOE was optimized to generate an approximation to a target image in a Fourier optical system. The results and convergent speed with various initial, freezing temperatures, stable states, and numbers of perturbations were compared and discussed.
