The mobility of blind people assumes itself as an emerging area, where several scientific contributions have been made, much by the underlying social inclusion associated with it. Technology has the power to contribute to and assist the daily lives of visually impaired people, facilitating and promoting the more autonomous execution of tasks.

This book presents three main parts: a first one presenting states of the art and surveys that assess several aspects related to the mobility of blind people, namely related to smart cities, accessible context-aware systems, smart systems, ground plane checking, and recent trends in technologies and systems.
