The financial crisis of 2008 brought in a new era in finances. Many processes were disrupted by the crisis, prevailing economic theories were rewritten, and it was demonstrated that the markets are not omnipotent. But how did this happen? Who was responsible for the events? Many opinions, studies and articles have tried to find the answer to this question, but the role of ethics and morality is hardly ever mentioned. The aim of the article is to present the opinion of the man in the street on the financial system, on how ethical the system is, and on the reasons for the system failure.
