Transmission and storage of the medical images generated from various healthcare applications through the internet must be secured for the correct identification of diseases and successful treatment of them. The medical images of the patient’s data must be protected in transmission and storage phase from different types of security attacks. Therefore, to maintain confidentiality and privacy of sensitive medical data, encryption is obvious. This paper provides a detailed decryption and analysis of a novel medical image encryption approach based on chaos theory and pseudo-random number sequences. Using the symmetric key concept, our encryption method is made up of substitution and permutation phases.
