简介
State Estimation is a vital part of Energy Management Systems (EMS). The process of assigning a value for an unknown system state using the measurement data and system configuration data based on a criterion is known as state estimation (SE). A familiar criterion is that of minimizing the sum of the squares of the differences between the true values and estimated values of a function. The SE requires measurements which are redundant. Since nineteenth century the weighted least-squares estimation was in usage for the purpose of state estimation, but the major developments in this area were done in twentieth century in the applications of Power system and aerospace field etc. In this paper an overview of Power system SE from Static State Estimation to Dynamic State Estimation has been presented.
