The worldwide relevance of tourism is currently unquestionable, both from economic and social points of view, highlighting the role that this activity plays in the development of territories. Among the various tourist services, the modalities of accommodation have been essential elements due to their importance for tourists. In this context, new forms of accommodation that bring tourists closer to residents (peer-to-peer accommodation) have been a growing trend. Also, the new technologies and the emergence of online reservation platforms such as Airbnb, HomeAway, Home Exchange and CouchSurfing stand out, allowing direct contact between tourists and accommodation owners, whether they are companies or individuals (Gutierrez-Tano et al., 2019; Richards et al., 2020).
