Metabolic disease has become more common and is still the main cause of death around the world. The etiology of these disorders is based on interactions between genetic, environmental, and dietary variables, resulting in a complex phenotype. In this sense, the deficiency of vitamins seen in the general population are frequent due to a variety of circumstances. Vitamin deficiencies are diseases‐causing micronutrients that are essential for cellular metabolism. In parallel to their nutritional functions, vitamins are increasingly being identified as key modulators of expression of genes and signal transduction when consumed in therapeutic doses.
