Where do women working in IT find role models? This is the question we ask in this chapter, which presents a study of women in IT careers. Within a framework of feminist technology studies and gender seen as social practices, we explore the women's experiences with role models through qualitative interviews. A lack of female role models is central in the women’s narratives, and we develop a model illustrating the various responses to this lack.
