Today, Industry 4.0 and sustainable supply chain management are two of the most extensively focused concepts by both academics and practitioners all over the globe. On the one hand, the rapid technological advancement in Industry 4.0 has brought new opportunities for achieving a highly connected, intelligent, responsive, and customer-focused manufacturing process that enables new business models for value creation. On the other hand, the increased emphasis on sustainable development and circular economy has required companies to become more environmentally conscious and socially responsible on their supply chain planning and operations.
