简介
This article tackles a pervasive problem in behavioral research, the cause and consequences of common method variance and its possible statistical remedies. Common method variance refers to the variance in measures that can be attributed to the measurement method rather than the construct that the instrument is supposed to measure. Common method variance is a problem in behavioral research because it may systematically distort the relationships between constructs. The goal of this paper is to provide an overview about the causes and consequences of common method variance, to present statistical remedies to control for common method variance, and to demonstrate them with real data sets.[PUB ABSTRACT]
