Background
Cannabis use is becoming more pervasive as access has increased due to changes in legal status of the drug worldwide. It is crucially important to understand genetic risk factors underlying cannabis use disorder (CUD) that may have an impact on public health in light of the changing legal status of cannabis and treatment needs.
Methods
We performed a genome-wide association study in MVP and meta-analysis of CUD in 1,054,365 individuals from four genetically-determined ancestries (European, EUR n= 886,025; African, AFR n= 123,208; Admixed-American, AMR n= 38,289; East Asian, EAS n= 6,843). Covariate-adjusted LD score regression (covLDSC) was applied to calculate heritability in each ancestry.
