简介
Fourteen different medicinal plants were selected to determine their antifungal activity against the fungus Aspergillus niger. Antifungal activity of ethanolic and aqueous extracts was performed by the Minimum Inhibition Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Fungicidal Concentration (MFC). MIC of aqueous extracts was found to be in the range of 150 µg/ml to 1030 µg/ml and of ethanolic extracts in the range of 35 µg/ml to 650 µg/ml. Highest concentration for inhibitory effect among the aqueous extracts was found to be of Butea monosperma (MIC: 1030 µg/ml) while the lowest concentration for inhibitory effect was of Euphorbia hirta (MIC: 150 µg/ml). Highest concentration for inhibitory effect among the ethanolic extracts was found to be of Casuarina equisetifolia (MIC: 650 µg/ml) while the lowest concentration for inhibitory effect was of Euphorbia hirta (MIC: 35 µg/ml). The ethanolic extracts were found to be more active …
