The Internet of Things (IoT) is a global network that assigns a digital identifier to each individual device, facilitating their interconnection. Message Queuing Telemetry Transport (RPL) is a protocol that is widely used in numerous Internet of Things implementations because it facilitates communication between devices. Regardless of the number of devices connected to an IoT network, RPL enables seamless communication while using a minimal amount of bandwidth. Many IoT devices handle sensitive data in the healthcare, transportation, military, and other sectors, making them easy targets for cybercriminals because of their openness and variability.
