Building information modeling (BIM) is a viable technology that can be applied to improving the design and construction process. To better understand the effect of BIM on the design and construction industry, a comprehensive survey that consists of a general questionnaire and expert interview was conducted. The survey aimed to distinguish the participants’ responses based on their positions and their firm’s sector, role, experience, size, and level of BIM implementation in order to collect their views on various related topics for the theoretical contribution of this study. By utilizing the survey results, an interview was designed to investigate and identify further in-depth information regarding BIM’s possible intangible benefits.
