Croton Sparsiflorus Morong (Family: Euphorbiaceae) is commonly used in traditional system of medicine for the treatment of inflammation, pain, jaundice, rheumatism, arthritis, anemia, etc. In the present study, anti-inflammatory and antipyretic effect of total ethanolic extract of whole plant of Croton Sparsiflorus along with its fractions was studied. Total alkaloidal fraction at a dose of 50 mg/kg of body weight produced significant (p< 0.05) reduction in paw volume of carrageenan induced paw edema. Aqueous fraction significantly reduced elevated body temperature in rats at a dose of 50mg/kg of body weight throughout the observation period of 6h.
