Soft skills not only help individuals thrive at work and become assets to their employers, but they can also improve their abilities to enhance their careers. What workshops targeting the development of such skills have in common is the understanding that the prerequisite for being considered employable at the contracting company and, therefore, being able to be developed further professionally in soft skills, is a working knowledge of business English. In view of the difficulties many foreign language programs have been subjected to at universities across Central Europe, it is time to reposition ourselves in our university curricula and ask business to support us.
