In recent, the rapid development of mobile communication systems has been forming advanced communications architectures among vehicles, so-called Vehicle Ad hoc Networks (VANETs). VANETs are a collection of vehicles equipped with wireless communication modules. These modules have abilities to self-configuring and self-establish parameters to communicate with others conveniently without relying on base stations or pre-installed infrastructures. VANETs are one of the most important components in intelligent transportation systems. Some unique characteristics of VANETs, such as pattern mobility and high speed, lead to the architecture of VANETs being frequently changed.
