The autonomous mobile cloud could provide available storage services to cloud users in a localized geographical area. Maintaining the data persistence is a major challenge as mobile nodes always have limited storage space. In this paper, a limited space oriented optimized storage protocol is proposed and named as SLAMS protocol. It keeps K copies for each data block through periodic communications between mobile nodes and stores data block copies into those nodes which have larger free storage space. The protocol design of SLAMS are presented in detail. The simulation results show that, compared with current major solution Phoenix, our SLAMS protocol has less data loss rate, shorter time of convergence, and less overhead of data block storage. Besides, the SLAMS protocol could effectively increase the probability of K copies for each data block in case that mobile nodes have limited storage space.
