简介
socially isolated and relatively egocentric. In his original paper, Asperger wished to stress that these were not just weird children, but individuals with a disability yet also a potential to contribute. However, since they could not learn by conventional means, they were entitled to special help.
The book is organized into seven chapters. Frith's opening chapter serves as an introduction, an overview, and an integrating chapter. She sets the stage for succeeding chapters by reviewing the core cognitive features of autism, namely, deficits in inferring speakers' intentions and conceiving of others' beliefs and attitudes. These deficits lead to the triad of autistic impairments in socialization, imagination, and communication.
