This paper prescribes an approach to integrate the ontology in a Knowledge Management System (KMS) in order to allow full potential of e-museum applications on the web to be realized. Ontologies become important part in many online applications in various domains as central controlled vocabularies for meaningful interaction and communication. This work is concerned with the design of the community-based e-museum which is intended to support the digital cultural heritage preservation. To illustrate the approach, this study considers the knowledge management and ontology methodology to shed light on the process of ontology construction.
