简介
Recent interest in car-to-car communications and networking has lead to the definition of the concept of “Vehicle Ad-hoc NETwork”(VANET) as an infrastructure-free ad-hoc networking solution in the automotive scenario. The requirement for providing reliable and efficient routing schemes in presence of relative movement motivates the proposal of MORA, a movement-based routing algorithm for VANETs. The algorithm is completely distributed, since nodes need to communicate only with direct neighbors within their transmission range, and it exploits a specific metric, which exploits not only the position, but also the direction of movement of vehicles. Extensive simulations evaluating the proposed protocol and results of comparison with state-of-the-art methods demonstrate that MORA provides a promising and robust basis for designing a routing strategy suitable for the automotive scenario.
