Urban growth has exacerbated parking issues in densely populated settings such as university campuses, where there is a strong demand for parking. The existing research on parking management overlooks the unique challenges of urban university settings, particularly in adapting technologies and strategies to meet their specific needs. The goal of this study, therefore, was to explore ways that urban university campuses can integrate evolving user behaviors and parking management strategies to enhance and sustain user satisfaction. The methodology involved a three-phase qualitative approach: defining the scope and design of the research, engaging with and collecting data from 19 diverse participants through structured interviews, analyzing the data to identify themes and gain insight into their parking experiences and potential solutions. The study revealed that because of their convenience, personal cars are the preferred mode of transportation, which underscores the need for adequate campus parking. Challenges like limited availability of spaces, long search times, disparities between parking costs and perceived value, and ever-increasing interest in innovative solutions point to the need for a more efficient, tech-driven, and adaptable parking system. Recommendations include flexible pricing and advanced technologies as solutions to the immediate and pressing problems. Strategic parking placement and promoting alternative transport are lasting improvements that have the potential to lessen the demand and enrich campus parking experiences.
