We investigate farmers’ preferences for agri-environmental programmes. We conduct a discrete choice experiment embedded in a survey. Farmers must choose between two programme alternatives or an opt-out. The programmes differ by the initiator, reward method for conservation effort, joining a Farmer Cluster, and the expected payment per hectare and year.
