We have developed a new framework for defining renal tubule models utilising a repository of existing models from the literature. The CellML format ( https://cellml.org) is an XML format for encoding mathematical models ‐ typically used for lumped parameter, non‐spatial models of physiological systems. We have previously demonstrated how models of epithelial transport processes can be discovered in public model repositories such as the Physiome Model Repository ( https://models.physiomeproject.org) and reused in building novel models at the epithelial cellular spatial scale.
In this work we present a novel Python‐based framework in which we extend our previous work to now look at solute transport and flow in generic tubule segments.
