Building performance analysis that uses Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies has been widely studied by the research community. Using BIM in building performance analysis can facilitate a more accurate and efficient analysis process. However, in order to perform a successful BIMbased building performance analysis, it is necessary to secure the interoperability between a BIM based architectural model and analysis programs. In this study, the interoperability between a BIM-based architectural model and performance analysis programs (EnergyPlus, eQUEST, Ecotect, IES) is evaluated based on gbXML protocol. From the results of this study, this paper discusses suggestions for improving the interoperability.
