LIFE focuses on the characterization of subclinical disease phenotypes and the identification of determinants predicting their progression to clinically manifest disease. It is part of the Medical Faculty of Leipzig University, enabling the participation of clinicians, epidemiologists and methodologists researchers experienced in molecular and genetic profiling, biostatistics and bioinformatics. LIFE is funded by the European Union, the European Regional Development Fund and funds of the Free State of Saxony, Germany.
