Leadership in the time period of the 21st century is facing a challenge in leading an organization to success in extremely competitive conditions. The leader needs to manage organizational transformation with broad views. The changing role of leadership is the best mechanism for organization together with the managing strategy. This paper describes leadership styles as a driving force of strategic management to be effective implementation. There are three stages of strategic management process as following: strategic formulation, strategic implementation, and strategic controls. These will also affect the 4 roles of leadership namely; transformational leadership, transactional leadership, servant leadership, and strategic leadership.
