Real-time simulation and emulation are crucial for the deployment of the intelligent transportation system (ITS). Also, traffic data acquisition through experiments is a costly proposition. Therefore, it is important to synthesize data using open-source traffic simulators and use it in crucial ITS studies using network simulators. The paper proposes a data acqui-sition framework and integrator named Vehicles in Connected Environment (VeCEn). It helps to store the network parameters (like received signal strength, and delay) and physical parameters (like speed, and acceleration) by integrating network (OMNET++) and traffic simulators (SUMO - Simulation in Urban Mobility). The paper highlights the internal architecture and working of VeCEn and proves its stability by evaluating performance metrics, and physical and network parameters.
