Recent years have witnessed increased interest in new mobility systems and technologies across the globe. These include shared-mobility systems, autonomous (also known as self-driving or driverless) and connected vehicles, and Mobility as a Service (MaaS) solutions. According to Shaheen et al.(2015), shared-mobility systems refer to an innovative transportation strategy in which passengers can request and gain short-term access to specific transportation modes. Users can access various transport services, including hailing a driver and vehicle or renting shared bicycles, scooters, and using their internet-enabled smartphones or other such devices (Shaheen & Chan, 2016).
