简介
We analyze the effect of Waveband selective switching (WBSS) on advanced optical transport networks to address the growing demand for bandwidth-intensive applications in the upcoming 6G and beyond technologies. The existing Wavelength selective switching (WSS) networks face data rates, latency, and connectivity limitations, hindering the efficiency of 6G and beyond technologies. The WBSS enables efficient routing of band-spanning fiber traffic by switching the entire band. The comparative analysis demonstrates significant improvements in cost, bandwidth utilization, and connectivity. Our findings highlight the potential of WBSS to meet the needs of bandwidth-intensive industrial applications, enhancing network performance and enabling industrial growth.
