In addition to the structure’s properties, the ground motion during an earthquake additionally influences how the building behaves and reacts. One of these factors is the frequency content which depends on the peak ground acceleration to peak ground velocity ratio (A/V). This study examines how the A/V ratio of ground motion during earthquakes affects the behavior of RC moment-resisting frame structures (MRFs). Thirty ground motion earthquake data were chosen to represent different levels of the A/V ratio. According to their A/V ratios, the earthquake records are divided into three groups to assess the impact of frequency content time. For the 4-, 6-, and 12-story RC MRFs in Cairo city that are designed by Egyptian codes and, the computer program DRAIN-2DX has been used for dynamic inelastic behavior.
