This chapter argues that the link between interventions and peer networks goes both ways: interventions can change dynamics within the peer network; at the same time, peer networks can also shape intervention outcomes. It briefly reviews the existing literature about the bidirectional link between interventions and peer networks. The chapter then discusses the findings from four studies that used data from the PROSPER (Promoting School-community-university Partnerships to Enhance Resilience) Peers project, one of the only existing data sets that includes longitudinal peer network measures within the context of an intervention evaluation. Study 1 tested the extent to which PROSPER shaped the friendship network.
