A compact frequency reconfigurable printed antenna for millimeter-wave applications is presented in this paper. This design is obtained by the merging of a half-arc and a right-angled triangle patch extracted from a rectangular radiator. The design approach is based on the use of two S-PIN diodes to obtain frequency reconfigurability. The antenna exhibits seven reconfigurable bands while showing good performances in terms of return loss, bandwidth and gain. The proposed antenna is well suited for future fifth-generation (5G) networks because of its notable features of small overall size (7.5 5 0.762 mm3), wide bandwidth, and frequency reconfigurability.
