简介
SUMMARY THE VALUE OF FLUOROSCOPY TO DETECT CORONARY CALCIFICATION This study compared the presence of fluoroscopically detected coronary artery calcification with angiographic coronary disease in the arteriography.
Two hundred and fifty two consecutive patients were screened with fluoroscopy and then coronary arteriography. The mean age (±SD) was 63±11 years (range 25-82). The prevalence of calcifications was 61%(154 of 252). Significant coronary artery disease (50% diameter stenosis) was found in 161 patients (63.89%). Sensitivity and specificity for coronary artery calcification detection of significant disease were 81.9% and 75.8% respectively. Positive and negative predictive values were 85.7% and 70.41% respectively.
