Purpose: The aim of this meta-analysis was to assess the clinical outcome of statins in different types of HF.
Methods: We systematically searched PubMed-Medline, EMBASE, Scopus, Google Scholar and the Cochrane Central Registry, up to February 2018 in order to select clinical trial and prospective observational studies, which compared clinical outcomes ofstatins vs. non-statins group in all HF patients and different types of HF. Clinical endpoints were all-cause mortality, cardiovascular (CV) mortality as well as hospitalization. The statistical analysis used mix-adjusted outcome data with generic inverse variance method and random model effect.
Results: A total of 76 514patients from 15 studies, which compared statins vs non-statins group with a mean follow-up 36.5 month, were included in the meta-analysis. In comparison to non-statin user the statin user showedshow lower risk reduction for all-cause mortality …
