简介
Today&# 8217; s Web provides a remarkable selection of diverse types of data resources (from plain text information to the opulent multimedia resources such as movies). Consequently, the Web requires efficient mechanisms which can match demands (requested resources) to supplies (available resources). In this paper, we propose an economic approach to solving this problem, implemented through a multi-agent system representing the B2C electronic marketplace. The efficiency of our agent-mediated electronic marketplace is realized by applying a semantic resource discovery model which uses two-level filtration of available data resources before a final ranked set of eligible resources is recommended to consumers in response to their requests. The filtration processes do not only consider the semantic information associated with advertised resources, but also consider ratings regarding the actual performance of businesses that act as resource providers (with respect to both price and quality) and the prices paid by businesses for advertising their resources on the Web.
