简介
The use of construction and demolished waste as a source of aggregates for the production of new concrete has become more common in the recent decade. This is due to the fact that producing concrete, which is the worldwide popular materials, large quantities of CO2 are also produced. In this regard, recycling seems to be a sufficient strategy for saving energy and reduction of raw materials. In the present paper waste glass (WG) and recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) were used as partial replacement for fine and coarse aggregates, respectively. Waste glass was used at 0%, 10%, 20% and 30% by weight of fine aggregate. The recycled concrete aggregates were also used at 0%, 20%, 35% and 50% by weight of coarse aggregate. Slump test, splitting and compressive strength tests were carried out. The results showed that RCA decreased slump, but WG had no impact on the slump value. Waste glass increased the compressive strength of 35% RCA specimens compared to that for reference samples. The tensile strength of the recycled concrete aggregate specimens increased compare to that for referenced specimens; however WG decreased slightly the tensile strength.
