The construction industry, despite being an important industry, traditionally experiences many losses during its performance through factors such as time delays, cost over-runs, and low building quality (Forsythe, 2016; Love et al., 2016). These losses occur due to the fragmentation of the industry into smaller parts, which entails a lack of effective collaboration and the lack of sharing of accurate and updated information among the various disciplines and professionals, including architects, engineers, and contractors (Papadonikolaki et al., 2016).
