Theoretical values of ultrasonic velocity in binary liquid mixtures of N, N-dimethylacetamide+ 1, 2-dichloroethane, N, N-dimethylacetamide+ benzene and N, N-dimethylacetamide+ carbon tetrachloride have been evaluated using free length theory (FLT), Nomoto’s relation (NR), Ideal mixing relation (IMR) and Impedance dependence relation (IDR). The relative merits of these theories and relations were examined by comparing the theoretical values of ultrasonic velocity with the values obtained experimentally. The results have been discussed in terms of interactions present in these mixtures.
