The proliferation of smart devices and multimedia rich environment applications have posed significant challenges to the network architecture. Network Function Virtualization (NFV) is one of the leading-edge technologies that is expected to cope with the existing challenges. Several recent studies indicate that NFV not only significantly reduces the operating expenses (OPEX) and capital expenses (CAPEX) but also decreases the time-tomarket of a new service.
