(57) ABSTRACT A first communication device (110) and method therein for transmitting a message generated in the first communication device (110) to a second communication device (120) in a wireless communication network (100) is disclosed. The first communication device, prior to transmission of the message being triggered, encodes, or encodes and modu lates, the message into more than one data packet variants using different combinations of coding and/or modulation parameters for the more than one data packet variants. When transmission of the message is triggered, the first commu nication device (110) receives, from the second communi cation device (120), information about physical transmission resources and/or physical layer parameters assigned to the first communication device (110).
