Osteoporosis, a silent disease, makes the bone brittle and fragile. The factors causing the seriousness of the illness are aging, gender, hormonal changes, and chronic diseases. Bone Dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) is the only available costly method for disease identification. Other non-invasive modalities with image processing techniques detect osteoporosis from the bone’s cortical part and are done after the onsite of the disease. The architectural changes due to the disease first affect the spongy part, Trabecular bone found at the center, and bone junction. Femoral bone is a similar bone subject to the maximum stress and physical activity like vertebral bone. This work Sector-based segmentation technique has been integrated with an extremity based segmentation technique to detect these architectural changes.
