This document gives a short rundown of all the steps needed to succesfully enable the hardware performance counters (HPCs) on the ARM Cortex-A8 [1] processor. More specifically, it is aimed at the Gumstix Overo [2] board with a Texas Instrument OMAP3530 [3] processor.
