Fluid loss circulation control during drilling operations is becoming more challenging as exploration moves from conventional to unconventional energy resources. The process of controlling filtrate loss during drilling operation necessitates the right design of drilling fluid that is capable to build an impermeable thin filter cake layer and permit a loss of a reasonable amount of filtrate volume into the formation. It is essential to understand the dynamics that play out between particle morphology of drilling mud additives to assess the sealing efficiency of the loss-reducing additives. As a result, a lot of materials were suggested as fluid loss-reducing materials, which also give thin filter cake thickness.
