The current innovations in computing technologies have set fourth intelligent automation of applications. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is one of the prominent tools in the automations and well-known part of the recent technology Internet of Things (IoT). RFID tags are widely used in cost effective applications as a better replacement of barcodes including product tracking, health care, toll gates on roads and many more. Though there are many innovations parallel to RFID and may perform more than what RFIDs do, RFID is irreplaceable technology because of its ease of use nature. In this paper we have discussed the localization techniques meant for RFID with their classification and the specific techniques under each type and summarized the taxonomy of RFID.
