WLAN hold the promise of increasing employee productivity by providing them ubiquitous connectivity and mobility across enterprise. It is a flexible data communication system implemented as an extension to or as an alternative for, a wired LAN [1]. Prediction of the signal strength for indoor propagation environments can be faced with the analysis methods that include many obstacles and the effects of multipath propagation such as signal attenuation, reflection and diffraction. The placement of access points (AP) can be modelled as a nonlinear optimization problem. In the present study, an application of particle swarm optimization (PSO) is shown to determine the optimal placement of AP.
