One of the most efficient areas today is the non-conventional energy resources based on wind energy. In enhancing real power, rotor & stator control during imbalance load conditions, the converter on grid side of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) tied to a wind generator must always be directed and controlled. The presented paper here presents the performance study of a DFIG based variable speed wind energy conversion system (WECS) using battery energy storage system (BESS) for smoothening of power. Due to the immense benefits of induction generators over other standard types of generators, their use has been most appropriate for maximizing the power development of non-conventional energy sources.
